Project 2889 Lama HiFi: Achieving Sonic Perfection with Advanced Acoustic Design

Welcome to our latest project, Project 2889 Lama HiFi, where we took on the challenge of transforming a standard listening space into an acoustically optimized HiFi room. This project showcases how meticulous acoustic design, precision installation, and high-performance materials can elevate the listening experience to new heights. From tailored absorber and diffuser configurations to strategic bass management using Artnovion bass traps, every element was meticulously chosen to bring out the best in sound reproduction. 3D Design Renderings: Visualizing the Acoustic Transformation

These 3D renderings highlight our design approach, featuring Artnovion Sahara Absorbers in Gloss White on the front wall, Lagos diffusers, and Andrea absorbers on the ceiling. Each element is meticulously planned to create a balance of sound absorption and diffusion. Notice how the design not only optimizes acoustics but also complements the modern aesthetic of the room.

Moving on to the technical details, these blueprints show the precise placement and fixing systems used for all panels and diffusers. The ceiling and wall-mounted elements are securely installed using a robust support structure to ensure stability and longevity. The custom mounting solutions also facilitate fine-tuning, ensuring every acoustic component performs at its best.

Finally, the top view and angled perspectives offer a comprehensive overview of the room layout. The strategic placement of corner bass traps and ceiling diffusers enhances low-frequency control and eliminates unwanted reflections, providing a clear and immersive listening experience. This design exemplifies our commitment to delivering an acoustically optimized environment tailored to high-end audio systems.

Precise Installation: Bringing the Design to Life

Corner Bass Trap Installation

The installation process started by placing four Artnovion Siena Bass Traps in the rear corners of the room. These bass traps are specifically designed to target low-frequency build-ups, minimizing room modes and ensuring a tighter and more balanced low-end response. The strategic positioning and height of these traps allow for more effective absorption, significantly reducing unwanted bass resonances, and creating a clearer soundstage.

Ceiling Installation

For the ceiling, we utilized a combination of Artnovion Andrea Absorbers and Lagos Diffusers, attached using the FixArt Tube System. The Andrea Absorbers control reflections and unwanted reverberation, while the Lagos Diffusers help scatter sound waves evenly, enhancing the room’s overall sense of space. This hybrid approach addresses mid to high-frequency reflections, allowing for a balanced acoustic treatment that maintains a natural sound and optimizes the room’s tonal clarity.

Front Wall Installation

The front wall was treated with a complete array of Artnovion Sahara Panels in Gloss White, chosen for their high-performance absorption and aesthetic finish. These panels provide superior control over early reflections, resulting in improved imaging and sound clarity at the listening position. The uniform placement of Sahara Panels across the front wall not only elevates the visual appeal of the room but also enhances the accuracy and definition of the audio experience, making it the perfect focal point for a HiFi listening environment.

Final Project Completion: Aesthetics and Performance

The finished project showcases a comprehensive acoustic treatment setup. The ceiling integrates Andrea absorbers and Lagos diffusers, arranged to enhance clarity and reduce reflections. The front wall is elegantly treated with Sahara panels in a gloss white finish, creating a visually striking focal point. Corner bass traps provide additional low-frequency control, ensuring balanced acoustics throughout the space. The combination of treatments delivers a refined look while significantly improving the room’s acoustic performance.

Acoustic Results: Before and After Treatment Analysis

RT60 Analysis:

Before Treatment: The room has long reverberation times, especially in the low frequencies, indicating excessive reflections and lack of absorption.

After Treatment and 2x AVAA C214: Noticeably reduced reverberation times across all frequencies, achieving a balanced and controlled sound.

Waterfall Analysis:

Before Treatment: Significant energy buildup and prolonged decay times in the lower frequencies, indicating problematic room modes.

After Treatment and 2x AVAA C214: Reduced energy buildup and shorter decay times, resulting in clearer and more defined low-frequency response.

Spectrogram Analysis:

Before Treatment: High levels of resonance and uneven energy distribution across the frequency range, causing poor clarity and coloration.

After Treatment and 2x AVAA C214: Smoother and more even energy distribution with reduced resonance, enhancing clarity and overall room response.
